Who are we?

Gadatka is the best place on the web for Poles living in the UK. It has been designed to help Polish immigrants and workers to settle into life in the UK with ease - no small task, with an estimated one million Poles already here and many more expected over the next few years.

The community has been established by Rune Sovndahl, a Danish immigrant living in the UK, and Polish national, Lukasz Kulik.

Since moving to London, Rune has spent the last seven years developing community-based websites. His experience, coupled with Lukasz's firsthand knowledge of the Polish community, puts them in the strongest possible position to help newcomers to the UK.

Between them, they have created Gadatka.com, Polish for "the little chatterbox". And the site certainly lives up to its name! It's thriving community bustling with information, services and advice on saving money, making money, getting a job and finding somewhere to live. Gadatka.com also helps explain legal and cultural differences between the UK and Poland and works closely with other Polish communities, Polish societies and Polish companies in the UK.

With Poles expected to make up many of the additional 7,000 construction workers required to build the 2012 Olympic Village in East London and with Poland's recent entry into the EU, the number of Polish people living in the UK is expected to double over the next few months and years.
